I first met Julia in 2000 and was a bit in awe of the woman who had set me on my life path many years before. We became good friends soon after and I helped her with stuff for the Hollywood group, the two Gayfests, her websites and other technical stuff. When she organised the first Benidorm Pride in 2011, she called on me to be her stage manager, and we had a great week in that October. In the last few years we kept in touch and had the occasional lunch to catch up as well. It's such a shame to see one of life's feisty, powerful, controversial, pioneering figures pass with so much yet to give. Rest well Julia. You will never be forgotten. x
